Airlines Cutting Back on the Freebies
In a pivitol moment in time when a plethera of the huge mainstream airlines have been severely reducing their former freebies like soft drinks, movies and snacks while simultaneously forcing us you pay absurd and ridiculous amounts just for necessities like checking our bags on board the flight, it is indeed comforting (to many, anyway) to know that at least they are adding a few new cool features here and there:For example, Inews reports confirm that the huge passenger carrier United Airlines is setting up some of their jumbo jets to accommodate flyers who wish to use their iPods and iPhones. According to a report on that truly awesome online tech resource which we know of as Tech World Magazine, The 170iTransport has been created to allow the iPod to act as a component in a tip top audio/video home entertainment system. It features, among other things digital audio output connector. As you probable already know the dock allows permits you to charge the iPod.
They are planning to equip their international flights with new entertainment systems that are equipped with a 30-pin connector that will attach to the dock connector on the iPod or iPhone.
Zurich on June 16th, there has been no report on how iPod users found this new way of using their iPods on the flight to date.
For it's part, UA is planning to have all of their international flights fitted with the new systems within the next two years or so. This service is planned to be installed in first class as well as the business class.
The personal TV has approximately a 16-inch screen and with the docking connection it will allow passengers to watch their own programs and movies on a larger screen.
